Solid
Services File Translation Services
Most CAD systems have the ability to save files in a neutral file format such as IGES, STEP or ACIS. And SolidWorks can import those files to create dumb solids. But what good is that? At best you have a solid part with no editable features. In some cases the import yields a group of unusable surfaces and a time-consuming repair process just to get a dumb solid. What you really need are native SolidWorks files that capture design intent with editable features. To recreate files is a tedious process and there is no sense tying up your valuable designers' time with it. Designers should do what they do best; design new parts, not remodel old parts. That's where Solid Services comes in. We can create new SolidWorks part and assembly files with fully detailed drawings based on your existing drawings from any CAD system.
